In its 30 year history, the orchestra has developed a rich and diversified repertoire. The Polish musical tradition, including M. Karlowicz, M. Gorecki, W. Lutoslawski, K. Szymanowski, plays an important role and covers a wide range of styles from the baroque up to the music of the present day. The Polish and German musical traditions in Upper Silesia have been blending together over a long period of time. We find the best of both influences in the Large Sudeten Philharmonic. The joy of making music makes this orchestra stand out. It appears regularly in the City Hall Reinickendorf (Berlin), the Congrss Center in Villach, the Auditorium St. Germain in Paris and in various music festivals. Radio recordings and numerous television appearances has brought the orchestra to Germany, the Netherlands and the USA. Major soloists, such as Valery Oistrach, Adam Javorkai, Katarzyna Mycka and Ulf Rodenhäuser appear often with the orchestra. The concert season includes appearances in Germany, France, Austria, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden and Norway. |
